I went for renewal with all papers including passport.
They did not even ask for any status or anything. Issued the DL for five years.

I am now using this opportunity (retrogression) to get my 3 yr H1-B extension through premium processing. Who knows when they stop this again?

Whether H! or EAD, if you are changing job it should be same or similar job classification. Using EAD is a blessing in disguise as there is no need to notify USCIS, unless there is a RFE. However, it is always better to inform USCIS and keep the job change in their file. It will help you when you travel on Adavnce parole. At POE, you need not fear to answer the question, whether you work for the same employer? you can answer saying you work for a new employer and AC21 has already been notified to USCIS.
Again the key is Same or similar occupation.
I am currently on H1B visa and I want to switch the company. New company is not willing to do H1B transfer and want me to work on EAD. I have pending I485 EB3 ROW with priority date of March 2006. Its been more than 180 days that I filed for I485 so I can use AC21 with EAD.
But my question is how risky will it be if I switch job at this stage with EAD?

This guy with absolutely clean record was held for 11 weeks for verification and lost his father in this process..
I have been trying for last 8 weeks non-stop in front of computer and I am not able to even see any open appointment...
WE REALLY NEED TO RAISE HELL ON THIS...
SENDING LETTERS TO CLINTON or may be IV rep team to meet her on this issue...
A lot of guys are stuck and have suffered for no reason...
Can you bring your friend here. If we can add stories from people who suffered, it would add more value.

Quite honestly, if that is how you feel - perhaps you'd need to reconsider relocating to your home nation. I'm Indian, who grew up in the Middle East. I've lived in the United States for 6 years. I've always felt quite welcome and accepted in every way possible. I believe I've been treated fairly and have had the opportunity to live with Americans and contribute in positive ways. I continue to live here, primarily based on these sentiments. I'd never live here if I felt the way you do now. Nicely put ryan. This country has given me a lot that I could think of. I may get GC lately. But that does not stops me what I want to do right now.

I understand...those that are calling USCIS have no other way of finding out if their receipts were issued, their Lawyer / EMployers may not even let them know...

NC-> Cleared , received letter from local Congressmen office who forwarded the note from FBI, confirmed again through Infopass.
Note: As per the last call with NSC , my case was pre-adjudicated, Biometrics are current and everything is clear, but not yet assigned to IO
