if there is an interview scheduled for you in the future, you will have to prove the intention that you will leave the job you have at that time and start working for the company who sponsored for your I-485.
it will take strong persuasion to convince that leaving your current job cold turkey and going back to the old employer.

also, you have to think about the cooperation that you are counting on from the old company. people come and people go.policies change, companies may decide to act differently 3 years from now... what guarantee you have that they will support you no matter what happens in future. what if there is a hideous RFE and they chicken out???

Because, till 2005 there were extra 100,000 (total 242,000 were issued) recapturd numbers available. Therefore, no one cared (DOS/USCIS) about AC21 law that removes country quota. EB2 were curren for all then.

You are missing it again. What is a driver license for ? Drivers license is a drivers license. It is a verification whether one has the driving skills and knowledge to drive safely on the road.
What has it got to do with job or immigration status ?
Matters related to Driver license are largely decided by States but with "Secure ID Initiative" passed in the Congress, some of the powers have shifted to the Federal Govt. Many aspects of Secure ID initiative are still work in progress but some of the states have taken pro-active steps.
Driver license is not merely used for letting the person drive BUT ALSO serves as a photo ID.
Your immigrant status is linked to how long you can stay in this country. Your stay in this country is prescribed by the laws established by USCIS, Department of Homeland Security and other agencies. I don't have the answer to your question but I wanted to point out that it was not necessary to have an attorney withdraw their representation. The proper procedure is to file a new G28 form and that would override the previous G28.
In your case I would suggest that you have an INFOPASS appointment and talk to an IO who may be able to direct you as to what to do. Alternatively you may want to contact an attorney.

Those are good points. We are not all Indian or Chinese on this website and in my case I moved to the US because of insecurity in my country (got kidnapped twice). If I went back there I could have a top job with a top company (and have had many offers) but that is not a place where I'd like to raise a family.
Before the US I almost moved to China, but then I got the US job offer. I now have the Canada option, but I wouldn't mind moving to India. I have lots of Indian friends and I think Indians are easily one of the very nicest people in the world while being smart too (not conceited), plus they speak English. I don't care about LS. Almost all cases I know are fraud. Sometimes 2 guys got GCs on same labor(since they were not asking Original LC). Thank god USCIS banned LS.

This is a very valid point. If employer or his lawyer asks more money in fees for filing I485 it is always better to go thro employer if he files I485 promptly. But if the delay is intention of the employer then use your own Lawyer.
