i really liked all the entires, especially eilsoe's but i voted for soul's, because it didn't use the traditional 'to the edge' format, and he successfully broke out of the isometric only view.

We need the numbers to make anything happen - if something as simple as cutting and pasting a letter cannot generate more than 20 participants when priority dates have become Unavailable again atleast for EB3I - I dont expect anything anymore to happen in the future. JUST BEING REALISTIC!!!
Guys,
Pls do not lose heart.
speaking for myself, i have tried to remain active, but suddenly got swamped with a huge work-load.
in this economy, performance is a matter of survival. Not to say that we should accept immigration to be a luxury.
It is a pity i had to miss the donor's telecon last week, simply as i was still working.
So bottom line: there are still people who are willing to participate and active, but it is a matter of immediate priorities.
Let us keep up the spirit and keep working....

Sorry to say, but sending mails of unresolved issues to NY Consulate is a waste of time.
I have sent them mails every week for 2 month (yes, I did that religiously) thinking that I would clog up their system, but I guess they had the last laugh! :-)
But hey everybody, pls do go ahead and follow the process!
Thanks
I merely posted what was on their website. Don't shoot the messenger....

Hospitals will NOT provide medical insurance. They can provide financial assistance based on your income if you do qualify. Usually it is a payment plan after some discounts on the total cost of the care provided.
Secondly if you are looking for maternity coverage after getting pregnant the premiums are going to be high, and mostly the insurance companies deny coverage.
Thirdly i would check with your local medicaid office which on occasion do provide emergency maternity coverage even for legal immigrants in some states.

A receipt number starting with SRC usually means that the receipt was issued by the Texas Service Center. However, at this moment, the case could be pending at any other center it USCIS transferred it.
Use your receipt number to lookup the case status on the USCIS website. The status will tell you where your case is pending.
Use this link to lookup your case: -
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do
I have it just says Texas Center....efile for AP seems to have many Texas offices in the drop down..which one to I choose..
Whcen I call USCIS 1800 number, they say that my case is pending in Mesquite, TX....and that does not show up in the Efile Drop Down.
--------------------
On May 29, 2009, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done. I think they might have thought that Grassley is like our Indian MPs and why should reply to him. They should have answered responsibly and tried to do some good faith efforts. Now it is paying time for their arrogance. Still Indian companies and Bodyshoppers are having time to change themselves. We need to wait and see whether they will change and forced to change.
"non answer" meant they didn't answer his questions but rather gave some vague reply of how h-1 was good for usa.
If I was on the receivng end of that response; I would have thought that these guys are playing with me and by not answering the quesitons; then they are obviously trying to hide something. Therefore, I will attack them in another way to make them conform to the behaviour I want.

Once the FBI Name Check delays issue is resolved, only thing that would be withholding your GCs will be insufficient Visa Numbers. IV is already working to recapture and increase those.
What are you waiting for? Contribute to IV, many already have - http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15493

As per my understanding, Lawyer or employer can not withdraw I485. I may be wrong, I 485 can be only withdrawn by applicant.
Any inputs..
I am in serious trouble, please read and comment if you can help.
- Spouse (Primary) and I filed I 485 in June 2007. (PD March 2004)
- Spouse Application is approved in July 2008
- Spouse changes employers after approval
- In October 08 we write to the law firm that initially filed the I 485 to withdraw their representation.
- In Nov 08 the Law firm incorrectly writes to USCIS to with draw the I 485 application.
- In March 08 I get an email from USCIS stating my application is withdrawn.
I obtained the notice of withdrawal and the notice says
'As a result of your request, your application is considered withdrawn, and it will recieve no further consideration by USCIS. There is no appeal to this decision.'
Neither I nor my wife have authorized the attorney to withdraw the application, we only wanted them to withdraw their representation (I have the letter we wrote to them and it clearly states it.)
what can we do.
Is it possible to reinstate our case?
Can we refile my AOS again, even thought the primary applicants green card is approved more than 6 months ago?

Title IV, Pub.L. 105-277 (October 21, 1998) "Workforce Improvement Act" (ACWIA) of 1998
http://www.nafsa.org/_/Document/_/acwia_-_american_competitiveness.pdf
Sec. 413 (a)
(vi)(I) It is a violation of this clause for an employer who has filed an application under this subsection to require an H1B nonimmigrant to pay a penalty for ceasing employment with the employer prior to a date agreed to by the nonimmigrant and the employer." The employer will not be able to get anything from you. Again, it does not matter whether you sign it or not, the clause has no legal power.

This is a very good, logical, sensible analysis.
I live in the US but I have been to canada a number of times on extended business visits, and my impression was that quality of life is very good over there. Granted, you dont earn as much money (or possess as much in material wealth, as someone put it) as in the US .. but that is compensated for by much safer neighborhoods, good social security and far more immigrant-friendly policies. The immigrants are much more integrated into society there than the US. I realize this may not be true for all regions for canada, but at least in BC and Ontario its very true. So it depends what you are after .. opportunity and earning potential are both better in the US .. but overall quality of life is as good or better over there. The quick turnaround time for permanent residency makes it very attractive for young people like me who havent already invested in settling down in the US .. I would rather live with "limited" opportunity there than remain in the US and be at the mercy of a single employer for 10 years.

There is something seriously wrong here.....one gets red dots for even simply truthfully recording answers to some questions asked by administrator......or are the red dots simply to protest/ express displeasure with the fact that my GC process was not as difficult as some other people.......its like "misery likes company" - i am miserable bcos i dont have a GC and hence am pissed off at this guy who despite not being crazy about GC got his in 7 months.........so i will give him red dots..............
Guys - get over it.........look at the general tone of posts from all on this particular thread - GC did not make any "big" change to most folks.......
For the more rational beings - i genuinely hope that you get your gcs within reasonable wait times and the waiting time does not take away from the personal and professional successes you deserve!
I gave you a green, if that helps.. perhaps someone did not notice the EB category in your signature. In any case, I agree it was unfair.
I hope you will stay engaged with the IV community, and help the rest of us in achieving our goals. We need everyone, not just those waiting for a GC, in this effort.

seriously? you working in some gas station too? what other advantages have you taken of the system?
Sad to see students being punished like this. They are just taking advantage of the system and make some money, but not doing anything illegal. That's what we are all here for right? Make some money. If enrolling for F1 and working somewhere else is against rules, then why did USCIS issue F1 and CPT to the students.
