This is a really good initiative. I appreciate the IV core for taking this up. I have read enough stories from people on Murthy forums. I will ask people on those forums to post their stories first hand on IV forums.
If possible contact other forum moderators and post this message/link. We need more support to fix this issue.

If I were you, I would discuss this before the wedding. Its too important an issue not to disclose, in my opinion.

Its very very important to discuss this with your future wife. If your marriage starts with telling a lie, IMO, its not a good sign. Whether its good or bad, just talk to her and discuss the best available option. If she is really understanding and supportive of the decision you both make, then you have already started your marriage life with flying colors...:)
And BTW, if you are considering reentry permit (to be out of US for more than allowed time on PR) NEVER APPLY REENTRY PERMIT WHILE YOU ARE OUTSIDE THE U.S. IT'S GONNA BE DENIED AND THE APPEAL WILL ALSO BE DENIED...And you will be stuck outside U.S. with a PR...

H1Bs approvals gets the government Millions of Dollar every year and if they can use the money to improve DHS there is no need for this addl price increases.
Think abt this any given year 85000(65000 regular + 20000 Advanced Degrees) new H1Bs approved. Atleast 50000(if not more) more are either extended or transferred. USCIS charges $2185 per application.
See the final numbers 135 000 X 2000 (approx) = 270 million dollars per year. IF they use all this money on USCIS & DHS programs we would have had a better system. Obviously all this money is going somewhere and that explains all the difficulties and frustrations we face with this BROKEN Immigration.

If your COS application was approved and you didnt have to go out of US for H1B stamping I would assume your are in status.
I dont know if this would come up in RFE or at interview stage, but I wont worry about it unless the period was more than 180 days.

See, what IV few members have written. I found them again in user control panel along with RED dots. I stopped caring about RED dots.
But, there are some comments that really hurts.

So all in all, I do not see much of GC approval till the last quarter of next fiscal year; those 120k preadjudicated cases will sit in show case....
I used to like Ron Gotchers ideas and used to visit his site/blog; but after initial few months, I realized that he does not know any more than any of us...he just throws in ideas; some of which are completely base less....I feel bad about those people who believed his ideas and opted for CP while USCIS has already preadjudicated large number of applications....(he predicted at that time that July fiasco will happen every year, so do CP)

The Bill has gone too far from what it means.Why didn't the congressman ask the American employers the same questions they asked other big companies.The H1 and L1 classifications allows them for gouging but the bill is not the answer for it.They are trying to show the stats that supports their insane bill.

I support this campaign too. Setting up a consular appointment and the anxiety that goes with not knowing whether the visa is granted despite having an approval is a stressful experience.

I request everybody to add one line in the letter for Consular processing filers as they should be allowed to get AC21 and EAD facilities now. This law came earlier only for 485 filers because CP process was fast but now due to retrogession all CP filers are waiting for Years and in the worst sitauation as 485 filers are enjoying their freedom with AC21 and EAD

many other states including mine has this requirement after 9/11. They require latest(within 1 month) employer letter saying what my name and address is and I work for them.

When I went for renewal in MD, I was asked "Do you have $30?"....That plus about-to-be expired DL got me a new license valid for five years.

You can bring UP TO 4 spouses on H4 visa. That's why it is called H4. Similarly on F2, you can only bring 2 spouses, Ah...students do not make that kind of money to support more than 2 spouses. USCIS thinks so much about us.

Received 1 year EAD.....though PD is not current!

Receipts: 7/18.
No Finger printing notice received. This was at NSC. Mostly will get 2 years EAD as my PD is nowhere near to current but will update everyone for sure once I receive the cards!
